Health experts and scientists are now calling inflammation a global health crisis. Research links low-level chronic inflammation to premature organ ageing, depression, fatigue, cancers, heart conditions, stroke, diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease, and people affected by arthritis experience a decreased ability to live their fullest, happiest life.

This motivated us to empower people to look after their nutrition and to choose the right nutraceutical supplements for their optimal health journey and to help alleviate issues associated with inflammation.

We discovered our solution in New Zealand’s Greenshell™ Mussels.

A long time health food of coastal Māori, Greenshell mussels are considered a superfood. They are rich in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and contain protein, iron, selenium and iodide, as well as significant levels of B12, manganese and phosphorus. They also contain good daily levels of calcium, magnesium, copper and zinc.

In the 1970s, researchers discovered that when the Greenshell mussel was a staple food in Māori diets, they experienced a lower incidence of inflammation.

In multiple scientific peer-reviewed lab and clinical studies undertaken since 1974, scientists have concluded that Greenshell mussels provide an abundance of potent nutrients that, when taken as part of a healthy, holistic diet, have shown to enable a health-full life.

Joint health

Greenshell mussels have been shown in studies to help lubricate joints and act as shock absorbers, ensuring that the cartilage surrounding joints regains lost elasticity and flexibility. Greenshell mussels promote joint tissue regeneration and contain the building blocks required to rebuild the collagen, proteoglycans (a complex of protein and glycosaminoglycans) and synovial fluid of the joints. As well as tissue repair, it improves elasticity of the connective tissue and reduces additional joint deterioration.

Weight management

Mobility issues make exercise painful but when pain is relieved and mobility restored, many people find the increased capacity to exercise may help with managing weight. This contributes to overall well being thanks to the feel-good release of endorphins, oxygen into the muscles, and increased endurance.

Asthma

Taking Greenshell Mussel lipid extract has also been shown to reduce symptoms of atopic asthma in adults, decrease daytime wheezing and improve breathing for some asthma sufferers.
